Showcasing creativity across two iconic exhibits
At First Rain, we believe in crafting spaces that don’t just display products but tell a compelling story. Our collaboration with Godrej Design Lab for India Design ID 2017 in Delhi and the Custom Exhibit at the Godrej Mumbai Campus was a testament to this philosophy. These two distinct yet connected exhibits provided a platform for emerging designers, celebrating innovation, creativity, and contemporary design. In both cases, we worked to translate Godrej Design Lab’s ethos into a tangible, immersive experience.
Blending industrial aesthetics with zen simplicity
The overarching design concept for both exhibits revolved around a striking fusion of industrial minimalism and Japanese Zen. At India Design ID 2017, we curated an environment featuring concrete flooring, modular structures, and a bold central GDL wall—creating a dynamic setting for designers to showcase their work. At the Godrej Mumbai Campus exhibit, we carried forward the same theme, adapting it to fit a more intimate yet equally immersive environment. Thoughtful lighting, reminiscent of museum-quality installations, highlighted intricate design details, drawing visitors into the story behind each display.
Purpose-driven fabrication: Elevating the design experience
Every detail was meticulously crafted to align with Godrej Design Lab’s vision. From the individual designer stations at India Design ID 2017 to the tailored layouts at the Mumbai Campus exhibit, our approach was centered on creating storytelling environments. Rather than conventional exhibition spaces, these booths became experiential hubs where visitors could engage with the essence of modern, sustainable design.
A bold visual identity that stood out
Both exhibits made a statement with their refined aesthetic. The sleek interplay of black and white elements created an elegant contrast, while carefully placed lighting accentuated key installations. At India Design ID 2017, vibrant color accents infused energy into the space, making it visually dynamic. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Campus exhibit leaned into minimalism, allowing the purity of design to take center stage—reinforcing Godrej Design Lab’s commitment to refined creativity.

These projects were a true collaborative effort, where precision in layout, material selection, and brand storytelling played a crucial role. Working closely with Godrej Design Lab, we ensured that every element—structural and aesthetic—reflected the brand’s philosophy of innovation and modernity.
